About
Domaine du Malignon is a family-run winery located in the hamlet of Trescouvieux. Our family business covers 45 hectares. We grow mainly traditional Rhône Valley grape varieties.
In 1925, Henri Charmasson founded Domaine du Malignon. His son Jean-Marie succeeded him. On this family estate, where four generations now live together, the love and passion for wine has been handed down from father to son. Today, Jean-Marie’s sons André and Jean are the third generation to run the estate, joined in turn by their own sons Sylvain and soon Bastien. As for the women of the family, they take care of the catering and accommodation with talent and friendliness.
A coat of arms adorns the walls of our cellar in the family farmhouse. It represents the fork of St. Michael the Archangel slaying the dragon. The origin of this coat of arms dates back to the time of the Wars of Religion in the 16th century. At the time, it represented a religious boundary. Today, we affix this coat of arms to all our bottles as a sign of the great importance we attach to respecting ancestral traditions and know-how when making our wine.
