Le domaine des Vieux Foudres, est installé sur les versants du piémont Cévenol. Il produit des vins IGP d’Oc de qualité, mais, c’est pour sa production de Cartagène qu’il est particulièrement reconnu.
This family-run estate has long made a name for itself around cartagena.
Cartagène is a festive aperitif drink from the Languedoc region of France. It’s a blend of fresh grape must and wine brandy. Each producer jealously guards his family recipe.
You’ll find white, rosé or amber cartagènes, depending on the grape variety used to make it. Traditionally served as an aperitif, cartagène can also be served with foie gras, or with Roquefort cheese, for an aged cartagène.
