The estate is a 350-hectare family property (farmland and woodland) acquired by Doctor Marc Cuche and his wife Madeleine in the 1950s.
His son Michel Cuche ran the estate from 1968 to 1996. He replanted with Cabernet-Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Viognier and Roussane.
In the early 2000s, his son Cyril Cuche began the transition to organic farming.
In 2015, the management of the estate was entrusted to Dr. Henri Cuche, a specialist physician from Lyon. The second transition took place in 2018 to produce natural wines.
The conversion to natural organic wines was carried out with the help of Eric Texier, winemaker at Brézème, AOP Côtes-du-Rhône. Eric Texier is one of the undisputed leaders of natural wine in France, exporting his wine all over the world.
Producing a natural wine is a demanding process, requiring in-depth knowledge of the earth and its reactions. To reinforce the plants’ natural defenses, we add specific elements, which brings us closer to biodynamic practices. The period between April 25 and June 25 is particularly critical, as rainfall favors the appearance of disease.
We keep a close eye on the leaves, which are true indicators of the vine’s state of health. A detailed understanding of the terroir enables us to anticipate disease while preserving the flora and fauna to keep the soil alive.
For over 50 years, our family has been working the land. We have planted vines, olive trees and cereals.
