About

Ideally located 4.5 km from the Canal du Midi and 20 km from Béziers and the beaches of the Mediterranean, the Domaine de Mairan spreads over the clay-limestone soils of Puisserguier. This terroir gives the wines a great finesse and many aromas. Jean Baptiste Peitavy, invites you to taste his Pays d’Oc wines directly at the cellar. Visits of the domain are also available by appointment. The domain is located between the sea and the mountains. It is here that Mr. Mairan, a famous physicist of the XVII century, was born and ennobled by Louis XIV. The clay-limestone soils of the property give our wines a great finesse and many aromas. Their quality is guaranteed by the charter of the independent winegrower harvesting in private cellar and their certification as Pays d’Oc Protected Geographical Indication. The wines of the Domaine de Mairan are listed in the Hachette guide of French wines. They are also present on many prestigious restaurant menus in our country.
