Domaine de La Grande Courtade
BEZIERS , Hérault
About
In Béziers, the vineyards stretch out in a south-facing amphitheatre around the Courtade basin. Nine grape varieties are grown: Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet, Tempranillo, Pinot, Alicante Bouchet and Aramon.
Situated in the commune of Béziers, the vineyard occupies a south-facing amphitheatrical site around the Courtade basin. The slopes are planted on deeper limestone soils, ideal for the ripening of southern grape varieties. This low-lying land has been cultivated since the 16th century, thanks to a network of ‘maïres’ (streams that allow rainwater to run off). Sales cellar located 11200 Luc sur Orbieu.
