At the foot of the Montagne Noire, halfway between the medieval city of Carcassonne and the old Roman port of Narbonne, the Domaine de L’Ostal is located on a great Languedoc terroir, and produces wines that illustrate with nobility the richness and power of the local soils Domaine de L’Ostal – Grand Vin (AOC Minervois La Livinière) red Domaine de L’Ostal-Estibals (AOC Minervois) red Domaine de L’Ostal White ALBE (IGP Pays d’Oc) For many years, Jean-Michel Cazes, owner of Chateau Lynch-Bages in Pauillac, has traveled the roads of Languedoc in search of great terroirs. One day, he discovered La Livinière, a village at the foot of the Montagne Noire, the cradle of the greatest Minervois vineyards. With his son Jean-Charles, they chose a name full of meaning and history: “l’ostal”, which in the ancient language of oc designates both the house and the family group that inhabits it. Domaine de l’Ostal was born.
