About
Château d’Agel is a pretty wine estate of 50 hectares. It was in July 2003 that the vineyard of the old castle in the village of Agel was taken over by lovers of fine wines. This exceptional quality terroir is today enhanced by the manager JF Bernabeu and his team. Initially the vineyard was restructured by planting Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre for the reds; Viognier, Grenache blanc, Rolle, Marsanne and Muscat for the whites, taking into account the very different terroirs: -a single 26-hectare block of terraces of alluvium and pebbles. -the other part on the Causse de Cazelle at altitude (180 metres) where the soil is mainly composed of limestone chips.
