Sebastien fell for following the ridge way between Pessan and Castelnau Barbarens.

Leaving Auch, follow the signs “Toulouse”, at the roundabout, turn right to Leboulin.
When you reach the place called ‘le Château” see the charming old chapel. Heading south to Moutegut, a pretty medieval castelnau perched on a rocky promontory ans croosed by the Saint James’ Way.
Take the direction of Pessan, pass the fortified tower gate and visit this former bastide (abbey built in the 12th ans 13th centuries that is now a listed historical building, at the town hall you may view a display of medieval coins.
Go on to Castelnau Barbarens, medieval Castelnau built around the castle (do not miss vestiges of the gate towers, beautiful medieval-style craftmen’s shops, lovely wood-panelled houses, and hiking trails departing from the town hall square).
Leaving the village by the south, turn right to the hillsides and appreciate the exceptional view over the Gers countryside.
You reach Auterive (picnic area on the river bank) then go on to Pavie (13th century bridge)
