CHÂTEAU DE MONS EN ARMAGNAC

CAUSSENS , Gers

Over

A few kilometres from Condom, in the Ténarèze Armagnac appellation area, discover Château de Mons in the heart of a 35-hectare vineyard.
From its origin in 1285 until its recent acquisition by the Chamber of Agriculture of the Gers, the estate has never ceased to grow and the buildings to be restored. Formerly the residence of the Dukes of Montebello, it now offers a privileged setting to discover the Côtes de Gascogne wines, Flocs de Gascogne, Armagnacs and prunes with Armagnac that it produces.
Around 4 fun and technical tours (lasting from 15 minutes to 1h30) on the themes of the life of the vineyard, you will discover the different stages involved in the production of these wine treasures. To perfect your knowledge or simply to whet your curiosity, a conservatory of south-western grape varieties will also be presented. An oenomedia room completes these tours and offers you a panorama of the techniques used in vineyard work from the past to the present day. The whole family will be delighted to see a video and an exhibition. Themed events (distillation in the Armagnac still, sensory workshops, producers’ markets, VineArt, etc.) are organised at the Château to prolong your oenological pleasure.

The Boutique offers the production of the vineyard of Mons : white and rosé Flocs de Gascogne, and a range of Armagnac aged in oak barrels. The shop also features specialties of Gersois producers : aperitives, liquors, plums, biscuits, foie gras, pates and spirits all come from the best terroirs.
