Musée d’Aubiet

The Aubiet Museum has a fine collection of exhibits from the 1st and 2nd World Wars, as well as military aviation exhibits and an exhibition on the 1870 war.

The Aubiet Historical Research Group invites you to discover the exhibition created to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the 1870 war, which was awarded the national ‘Year of Remembrance’ label. This lost war, which had to be quickly forgotten, nevertheless mobilised thousands of young people and caused many civilian and military casualties on the battlefields, some of which are still infamous (Sedan, Gravelotte, Belfort… and during the siege of Paris).
Some forty people from Aubiet, whose names have been found, took part in these battles and five of them lost their lives.
