In the heart of a unique terroir between the Mediterranean and the mountains, Le Berger des Abeilles produces rare, unheated honeys. Visit our glass beehives, watch the bees at work and enjoy tastings of honey, nougat and gingerbread.

Established in La Salvetat since 1980, Le Berger des Abeilles is first and foremost a story of passion and family transmission. Now run by the next generation, Claire and Charles, the apiary continues to uphold demanding know-how, deeply rooted in respect for bees and their environment.

Thanks to our privileged location at the crossroads of Mediterranean and mountain influences, our apiaries are set in preserved natural areas, all within an hour of the farm. This exceptional floral diversity gives rise to fine and rare honeys: white heather, chestnut, thyme, rosemary, lime tree, maple, garrigue, mountain honey and many more.

To preserve all the nutritional and aromatic qualities of our honey, we use a gentle extraction process without heating. Crystallisation occurs naturally, revealing the full aromatic complexity of a true “living honey”.

The visit continues with a unique educational experience around our glass beehive. Sheltered and fully safe to access, it allows visitors to closely observe the fascinating life of the colony: the queen, worker bees, brood, and reserves of honey and pollen. A privileged moment to understand the essential role of bees and the importance of protecting them.

The experience concludes with a tasting of our honeys and a visit to our shop, where you will also find nougat, gingerbread and other gourmet honey-based specialities.
