ÉGLISE NOTRE-DAME DE L’ASSOMPTION
LAMALOU-LES-BAINS , Hérault – Cultureel erfgoed
Over
Rebuilt in the 17th century over Romanesque remains, Notre-Dame de Villecelle was the town’s second church along with St-Pierre de Rhèdes, becoming the parish church in 1803. It in turn handed the title of parish church to the new St-Pierre St-Paul church in Lamalou-les-Bains in 1904. Thanks to the enthusiastic work of all the Villecelle hamlet residents and with the help of the municipality, this sanctuary has been restored to its former glory. This exemplary restoration, which has breathed new life into each feature added over the centuries, has given the gift of eternal youth to a humble country parish church.
