Combining heritage, nature and wild waters, discover Villemur as you float down the River Tarn. Paddle your way to explore its historic sites, the former Brusson factory and its unspoilt riverbanks. For beginners, we recommend a paddle of at least 2 hours downstream (towards Villebrumier) on the right-hand bank. If you have children weighing less than 40 kg, please remember to bring your own lifejacket. At the start of your journey, admire the Defence Tower – a remnant of Villemur’s ramparts – the suspension bridge, and the Brusson factory (which played a key role in the town’s development during the 20th century). Then head towards Villebrumier, with its unspoilt beaches stretching as far as the causeway and its lock at the gateway to the Tarn-et-Garonne department. Then turn back at the house with the blue shutters (be sure not to go past the lock and its causeway) and paddle gently back down to the starting point. Thanks to the KAYAKOMAT self-service station in Villemur-sur-Tarn, you can access kayaks and paddleboards seven days a week and discover the Tarn in a whole new way.
