Bastide of Montréal du Gers
Time for a getaway, come and discover one of the first bastide of the Gers: the bastide of Montréal-du-Gers built in 1255.
With its rich past in history, the village retains an important heritage: fortified walls, half-timbered houses, a square surrounded by beautiful arcades, the Gothic collegiate church of Notre-Dame… you will be charmed by this village!
Montréal-du-Gers owes its notoriety to the nearby Gallo-Roman villa of Séviac, famous for its mosaics unique in Europe, for their colours, numbers and state of preservation. The village is also a stopover on the road to Santiago de Compostela.
To learn more about the village by yourself, come at the Tourist Office and take the visit sheet ‘The Factory of Memories’: thematic games, immersion in the vineyards of Armagnac-Gascony, local recipes, souvenir shop… it’s your turn to explore!
