Le gîte Andourra

In a pretty hamlet in Biros, surrounded by forests and at an altitude of 900m, the gîte is a comfortable and spacious traditional mountain house of around 100m2, built of stone and facing south, in the heart of the Ariege Pyrenees National Park.

Looking for nature and peace and quiet? Come and recharge your batteries in our beautiful Biros valley! At an altitude of 900m, the Andourra gite (classified as a 3* tourist residence and 2 ‘épis’ by Gites de France, Bonnes adresses 2023, 2024 and 2025 on gites.fr) has been renovated using natural materials (stone, wood, terracotta). Its rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a fireplace in the living room, and a garden (with pergola and wooden terrace), sheltered from view and not overlooked, adjoining a meadow that slopes down to the stream.
You’ll be surrounded by nature and peace and quiet, while enjoying the atmosphere and security of a typical Biros village. No vehicles pass in front of the house, cars park on the hamlet square 50/70m away, accessed via a steep lane.
This comfortable gite sleeps 6 (1 double bed in 160; 3 single beds; 1 sofa bed).

Documentation is available in the gite to help you choose your activities (GR10 nearby, Mt Valier reserve, Étang d’Araing, river and lake fishing, mountain biking, paragliding, summer events, etc.). Nature lovers will also be able to observe the flora and fauna, enjoy a picnic in one of the many streams and waterfalls and admire the unspoilt, unspoilt countryside, or simply relax and recharge their batteries.
One well-behaved pet accepted on request if conditions are met (not in the bedrooms, please). Internet not available in the house but 4G is available depending on the operator. Internet access available in the small library on the hamlet square.
Summer events: Transhumances (June), Le Tour de France (July), Grand Antique d’Aubert marble, Autrefois le Couserans at the beginning of August, le RITE, Fête du miel et du fromage (August), local festivals …
