The Aresquiers wood covers an area of 179 hectares. The site has been protected by the Landscape and Nature Protection Act since 1978. Its proximity to the sea, which is unusual in the Mediterranean region, makes this wood an outstanding and unique environment. This pine wood represents a transitional area between the seashore and the forest environment. It provides a home for a number of rare plant species, as well as birds: warblers, owls, cuckoos, herons, little egrets, storks, etc. A yellow marked path of 8 km in the Aresquiers wood.
