Take to the open sea to discover the dolphins of the Mediterranean . A day of naturalistic exploration off the Mediterranean, to observe, understand and study marine life and the Bottlenose Dolphin of the Gulf of Lion.
This cruise on the Big Blue will immerse you in a world as fascinating as it is mysterious… that of marine mammals!

About

Embark on a unique adventure! The objective of this day is to make you discover the “world of the sea”, while alive and mainly a species which frequents the Gulf of Lion: “the bottlenose dolphin” on a large stable and comfortable catamaran. This day will allow you to better understand marine biodiversity, to acquire elements of knowledge on the proper functioning of ecosystems with a focus on the Bottlenose Dolphin thanks to the awareness workshops offered by the crew and the workshops in autonomy free of charge. ‘access throughout the navigation to a 250 m2 space for discovery and observation.

Plankton sampling: with a special net and observation under the microscope of planktonic life in a drop of water (sampling possible depending on weather conditions).

Conference on the Bottlenose Dolphin: allowing us to share our experiences and our study work.Our encounters with these exceptional animals that are dolphins, their behavioral study, allow us to reconnect with our faculty of wonder with regard to their skills resulting from a long evolution and their remarkable capacity to adapt to the environment.

Implementation of participatory sciences: as soon as you leave the port, heading out to sea, short briefing on the organization and implementation of environmental data collection protocols, for those who wish, with distribution of binoculars.

You thus participate actively in our study programs whose main objective is the conservation of biodiversity, an indicator of the health of the Mediterranean for the future of mankind.

-> Observation of frequently encountered seabirds: yellow-legged gull, brown gull, kittiwake, black-headed gull, cormorant, tern.

Opportunistic sightings (sightings not guaranteed): sunfish, tuna, northern gannet, Balearic shearwater, twisted penguin and the Gulf of Lion bottlenose dolphin.
Each observation will give rise to information on the species.

-> The data will be displayed on various applications (which you can consult and use) and made freely available to the scientific community.

From € 75 or € 65 * (per all-inclusive participant **), payment on boarding.

IN JULY / AUGUST: FAMILIES (not recommended for children under 7), FRIENDS, COUPLES, INDIVIDUALS Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5/6 p.m.

THE REST OF THE YEAR: GROUPS, STUDENTS, ASSOCIATIONS, from 15 and up to 30 maximum for an exclusive navigation (navigation is reserved exclusively for the group, the association …).

DEPARTURE FROM CAP D’AGDE (or other port on request for groups), times to suit.

A “Full day member” card of the association is issued upon boarding.

** Including membership, all educational and scientific material, supervision of a sailing teacher, marine ecologist and a sea guide or teacher, participation in workshops and events educational. Insurance included, civil liability, bodily injury, participant’s property.

* up to 18 years old, student, unemployed, family-group from 4 people, PMR, not recommended under 7 years old in relation to the time of the outing.

– Meals taken at sea (to take away).
Following the latest health measures coming into force on July 20, 2020, wearing a mask on board is compulsory from the age of 11.
