Discover Banyuls-sur-Mer

Banyuls-sur-Mer wraps around a lovely cove, sheltered from the Tramontana wind. The village is set against a beautiful backdrop of terraced vineyards, home of the famous AOP Banyuls natural sweet wine. A boardwalk runs along the beach where pedestrians can stroll past statues by Aristide Maillol, a native of the town.

A scuba diving hotspot, the coast of Banyuls is also home to France's first Marine Nature Reserve, dedicated to the protection of endangered species over 6 kilometres of coastline, stretching as far as Cerbère.

Must-see

Between traditional festivities, art and the wealthy biodiversity of the Mediterranean, Banyuls-sur-Mer boasts many highlights. Note that Maillol Museum is 1 hours' walk from the village.
